# Manually Add an Account

> Create general ledger accounts in your Chart of Accounts

The Chart of Accounts is the foundation of your accounting system. Each account represents a category for recording financial transactions.

## Account Types

1. **Assets** - What you own
2. **Liabilities** - What you owe
3. **Equity** - Owner's investment
4. **Revenue** - Income earned
5. **Expenses** - Costs incurred

## Creating a New Account

1. Navigate to **Settings** → **Chart of Accounts**
2. Click **Add Account**
3. Enter account code and name
4. Select account type
5. Click **Save**
